Yes, the medical alarm system requires a land based telephone line in order to place a call for emergency help.

What happens if the power goes out?

The medical alarm system has an internal backup battery that supplies power to the unit for approximately 32 hours.

How do I know the medical alarm system is working?

The medical alarm system continually performs self tests to ensure it is working properly.

What happens if my medical alert bracelet or other transmitter gets wet?

Our transmitters, including medical alert bracelets, are water proof. This allows you to wear the medical alert bracelet all the time to ensure you have it if you need it.

Who does the emergency operator contact if there is an emergency?

The emergency operator will have a list of contacts personalized to you. You can have as few as one local emergency dispatch and as many as ten family and friends.

Does the medical alarm system work with another phone or answering machine?

Yes, either device can be plugged into the base of the medical alarm system and will not interfere with its operation.

What if I move?

Simply take the system with you and plug it in at your new residence. Push the transmitter to ensure the unit is working properly and update the response center with your new address.
